Logic Trends Extends Microsoft Forefront Identity Manager 2010 to the Mainframe With Identity Forge

ATLANTA, GA--(Marketwire - June 10, 2010) - Logic Trends, Inc., the Identity and Access Management Specialist, announced enhancements to its partnership with Identity Forge (IdF) to help clients extend Microsoft Forefront Identity Manager (FIM) 2010 to the mainframe. Numerous successful deployments, including a recent one with a global transportation company, further validates the solution, partnership and expertise of Logic Trends.

Identity Forge now extends FIM 2010 to several mainframe security managers, including RACF, ACF2, Top Secret as well as other target systems such as iSeries (AS400), enabling Logic Trends to provide even greater Identity and Access management value to customers. Logic Trends provides customers with the Identity & Access Management insight, knowledge and expertise to help ensure successful, timely, and on-budget deployments.

"The partnership enables us to bring an end-to-end Microsoft-based Identity and Access Management solutions to our customers, including the pervasive mainframe environments," said Buck Bell, VP for Logic Trends. "Given our success with Forefront Identity Manager and the fact that it leverages customers' native Microsoft infrastructure and IT skills sets, the natural extension IdF provides is an exciting leap forward in addressing the enterprise requirements of our clients."

Identity Forge provides direct bi-directional and native communication between FIM 2010 and the mainframe. This native integration resolves issues resulting from "screen scrapping" approaches such as limited functionality, longer development cycles, and major performance challenges. The IdF platform host functionality includes: Bi-Directional User Profile Synchronization, Password Management, Real-Time Reconciliation and Resource Management.

"Identity Forge is committed to helping customers improve their security posture and bring the host environment within the scope of IAM platform management," said Chad Cromwell, Founder and CTO of Identity Forge. "Microsoft has further stepped into the enterprise Identity and Access Management solution space with FIM 2010, and we're seeing a significant level of adoption. Logic Trends, with their sales and delivery expertise on both FIM 2010 and Identity Forge make them our go-to partner in the United States."

"Microsoft welcomes the new functionality Identity Forge provides to customers using Forefront Identity Manager 2010 and the increased collaboration between Identity Forge and Logic Trends," said John "JG" Chirapurath, Senior Director at Microsoft. "Solutions such as these that address mainframe integration requirements help extend the value of Microsoft's identity and access management solution."
