Logical Operations Applauds Proactive Efforts of the U.S. Government in Cybersecurity and Urges Citizens to Support Future Legislation to Protect Against Cyber Threats

ROCHESTER, NY--(Marketwired - November 13, 2015) - Logical Operations, the world's leading provider of information technology instructor-led courseware, applauds the U.S. government's proactive efforts to pass cybersecurity legislation that will help companies battle the constant onslaught of cyber-attacks and urges citizens to support future legislation that would remain ahead of the efforts of cybercriminals.

At the end of October, the U.S. Senate passed legislation by a vote of 74 to 21 that will help companies fight cyber-attacks. The Cybersecurity Information Sharing Act, or CISA, is a law to improve cybersecurity in the United States through enhanced sharing of information about cybersecurity threats, and for other purposes. The law will allow the sharing of Internet traffic information between the U.S. government and technology and manufacturing companies.

While CISA is an important first step forward, citizens must urge their legislators to move faster to pass future legislation to stay ahead of the increasingly sophisticated efforts of cybercriminals. The cyber threat landscape is becoming more and more complicated and dangerous as cybercriminals attempt new tactics, and legislative change must occur at a faster pace in order to stay ahead of these progressively complicated cyber-attacks. As a leader in cybersecurity education, Logical Operations is encouraged by the U.S. government's proactive efforts towards increased cybersecurity legislations, but calls for citizens everywhere to urge their legislators to pass future legislation that will stay ahead of the actions of cybercriminals.

Logical Operations is dedicated to enabling professionals everywhere to become the first line of response against cyber-attacks through hands-on, instructor-led training that will enable end-users to recognize and avoid security threats and for IT professionals to defend against real-life security incidents.

Logical Operations' CyberSAFE instructor-led training curriculum enables employees of any organization to identify many of the common risks involved in using conventional end-user technology, as well as ways to use it safely to protect themselves and their organizations from those security risks. The CyberSAFE training program, delivered in a half-day or less, is designed for non-technical end-users of computers, mobile devices, networks, and the Internet. This course will also prepare students to earn their Certified CyberSAFE credential.

In addition to providing security education for end-users, it is critical for IT professionals to gain the skills needed to defend against cyber-attacks. Logical Operations' CyberSec First Responder: Threat Detection and Response training curriculum will prepare security professionals to become the first line of response against cyber-attacks by teaching students to analyze threats, design secure computing and network environments, proactively defend networks, and respond to and investigate cybersecurity incidents.

"Here at Logical Operations, we know that people are the key to protecting an organization's network; even with the best hardware and software solutions, an organization won't be fully protected without properly trained professionals," said Bill Rosenthal, CEO, Logical Operations. "We applaud legislation that will help organizations and individuals combat growing cyber-attacks, and are dedicated to supporting proactive actions against cyber threats through hands-on cybersecurity education."
