Logix Crowdsources Mascot's Name

BURBANK, CA--(Marketwire - Aug 29, 2012) - Logix Federal Credit Union (formerly Lockheed Federal Credit Union), will launch a Facebook contest (open to the public) on August 31 to name the credit union's new robot mascot. The contestant with the winning name will receive the grand prize of $2,500, with four runners-up receiving $100 each.

In addition to the cash prizes, two participants will win a new iPad: one will be randomly awarded to someone who submits a name in September, and another to someone who votes for his/her favorite name in October.

"With our new name, we introduced an iconic robot character that reflects the credit union's innovation and forward-thinking technology, but in a way that captures our organization's fun personality," said Andrea Carpenter, Senior Vice President of Marketing and Strategy. "Now, we would like the community to participate in naming the little guy, and to have an opportunity to win some great prizes."

Rather than paying an agency, the credit union wants to engage its membership and the general public in certain marketing decisions.

"There are a lot of very creative people in our community," Online Marketing and Social Media Manager Brad Blue said. "Crowdsourcing via social media gives us an opportunity to interact with them. This ensures that our brand not only reflects the people we serve, but is directly influenced by their participation."

Contest entries will be accepted via the Logix Facebook page throughout the month of September and narrowed down by Logix staff to five finalists. The five finalists' entries will then be open to voting by the public beginning October 1, with the grand prize winner and the new mascot's name announced on November 1.
