Logolance to Exhibit Their Innovative Model for Web-Based Brand Design at Chicago Technology Expo

CHICAGO, IL--(Marketwire - Jul 20, 2011) - Chicago-based Logolance today announced they will be showcasing their innovative model for web-based brand design at the Chicago technology expo, TechWeek, from Friday to Monday in the Merchandise Mart. Logolance, which launched in April, features a select community of talented professional brand designers, and was built to solve the many problems plaguing the practice of design crowdsourcing.

The early momentum of the crowdsourcing phenomenon has been challenged considerably in recent months by the problems associated with the practice. In the design crowdsourcing model (community-based design), companies outsource design work to undefined large groups of people that submit design concepts for free in hopes that the client will pay them for their work. In a design contest that involves 100 designers, 99 designers will walk away unpaid, while one will be reimbursed for their efforts.

This practice has drawn the ire of many within the design industry because of problems with low-quality design, copyright infringement, and ethics concerns. Logolance helps solve these problems and addresses the concerns held by professional designers while still fulfilling clients' demands for reviewing and communicating with multiple designers.
