London Steakhouse Pays Homage to Pies During British Pie Week 4 to 8 March, 2013

Grosvenor House's JW Steakhouse Adds Daily Pie Selection to Menu

LONDON--(Marketwire - Feb 27, 2013) - From sweet to savory, everyone loves pie, and in honour of British Pie Week, the JW Steakhouse is celebrating by adding a daily pie selection to its lunch and dinner menus.

The London restaurant, located within the Grosvenor House hotel on Park Lane, will offer a different savory selection each day during the week of 4 to 8 March, 2013, plus one new dessert selection. With something new every day, local foodies can return throughout the week to sample the creativity of this luxury Mayfair hotel's chefs.

The British Pie Week menu at this five-star London hotel restaurant includes:

  • Monday, 4 March: Slow-braised oxtail and bone marrow pie
  • Tuesday, 5 March: Chicken, chestnut and tarragon pie
  • Wednesday, 6 March: Filo pastry pie with butternut squash, Swiss cheese, spinach and pine nuts
  • Thursday, 7 March: Aberdeen Angus-steak and Greenwich Ale Meantime pie
  • Friday, 8 March: Cornish seafood pie
  • Daily dessert selection: Apple and Jack Daniels Honey Liqueur pie

After British Pie Week, there's plenty to keep gourmands coming back to this Central London luxury hotel restaurant. The JW Steakhouse is known for its fine cuts of American USDA and Aberdeen Angus beef. Each steak is hand-picked, cut in house, seared on the restaurant's 650-degree broiler and served with a creamy horseradish, béarnaise, bourbon peppercorn, red wine or port and stilton sauce. Pair a succulent steak with sides such as creamed spinach, onion rings, cheddar mac n' cheese or potatoes prepared a variety of ways, including a bourbon sweet potato mash with marshmallow crust.

Steak might be the star of the restaurant's menu, but it shares the stage with a number of other delicious options including cream of crab soup; a signature chopped salad with fresh vegetables, feta, avocado, crispy fried onions and a lemon vinaigrette; pumpkin risotto with porcini, baby spinach, parmesan and an herb sauce; and line-caught cod fish-and-chips with tartar sauce. For dessert, don't miss "The Best Cheesecake This Side of the Pond," featuring the chef's secret ingredient, or Bettie's Bread Pudding served with housemade vanilla bean ice cream and a bourbon hard sauce.
