Long View Announces Drilling Results

CALGARY, ALBERTA--(CCNMatthews - Sept. 12, 2005) - Long View Resources Corporation (TSX VENTURE:LRC) ("Long View" or the "Company") announced today that it has successfully drilled and completed a Frobisher horizontal re-entry at its Company-operated Viewfield property in southeastern Saskatchewan. Initial production rates have averaged approximately 130 barrels of oil per day (65 barrels of oil per day net to Long View).

John Styles, Chairman and Chief Operating Officer commented, "This is a key well that sets the stage for further Frobisher exploitation in the Viewfield area." Kevin Patterson, President and Chief Executive Officer added, "In addition to the Frobisher formation, the Viewfield property is located in the heart of the Bakken play that has attracted recent industry attention. The Company will be monitoring results from offset wells together with further analysis of its 3D seismic covering the property to further evaluate the potential of the Bakken formation."

The Company has also finished drilling three additional wells that are awaiting completion. These include a vertical exploration well at Cecil in the Peace River Arch area of Alberta, a vertical exploration well at Colgate in southeast Saskatchewan, and a two leg horizontal development well at Ingoldsby, Saskatchewan. At Cecil the well has been cased and is awaiting services for completion and testing. At Colgate and Ingoldsby completions are underway and the Company will be announcing testing and production results as they become available.
