Long View Commences 2D Seismic Program on 27,000 Acre Saulteaux Exploration Permit and Updates Ingoldsby Drilling Results

CALGARY, ALBERTA--(CCNMatthews - Jan. 18, 2006) - Long View Resources Corporation (TSX VENTURE:LRC) ("Long View", the "Company" or the "Corporation"), is pleased to announce that Indian Oil and Gas Canada ("IOGC") and Saskatchewan Industry and Resources have both issued the relevant seismic acquisition permits, and that operations have begun on the phase one 2D seismic survey program on the 27,000 acre Saulteaux First Nation Exploration Permit, near Cochin, Saskatchewan, issued in 2005 by IOGC.

Long View is also pleased to advise that, in cooperation with the Chief and Council of the Saulteaux First Nation, the Company was able to arrange for the employment of a number of Saulteaux First Nations members with the seismic contractor for the duration of the Long View seismic survey, and perhaps extending through to spring break-up.

The phase one seismic program involves the shooting of approximately 20 kilometres of high-quality 2D seismic data using dynamite. The program represents an acceleration of the first and second year seismic exploration requirements under the 27,000 acre IOGC Exploration Permit, and was expanded in light of recent drilling activity offsetting Long View lands to the west.

The seismic program will tie to existing well control offsetting the Saulteaux First Nations Exploration Permit, and will provide coverage on the northern, gas-prone, portion of the lands. It is anticipated that seismic acquisition will be completed by January 31, 2006, and post-acquisition processing and interpretation will be complete around mid-February 2006.

Ingoldsby Drilling Results

Long View also wishes to advise that drilling operations were successfully completed at its most recent Ingoldsby 2A9-35 horizontal well on January 5, 2006. The well encountered oil stained, porous Frobisher pay throughout both horizontal legs, at higher structural elevations than the first Ingoldsby 1A9-35 horizontal well drilled in September 2006. The well was completed and equipped to pump on January 12, 2006, and recently commenced production into the Long View Ingoldsby 9-35 Central Battery and Disposal Facility. A Company production update will be released once stabilized production has been achieved from the new Ingoldsby 2A9-35 horizontal well. The Company has been advised that construction of the 2.7 kilometre power line to the 9-35 battery will commence on or about January 23, 2006, and will be completed by January 31, 2006. The installation of three-phase power in the project area will enhance the ability of Long View to optimize volumes from the project with high-volume lift pumping equipment.
