LongBow Announces Share Consolidation and Name Change

CALGARY, ALBERTA--(CCNMatthews - April 5, 2007) - LongBow Energy Corp. (TSX VENTURE:LBV) ("LongBow" or "the Company") wishes to announce that shareholders of the Company approved the previously announced share consolidation and name change by the requisite majority at a special meeting of shareholders held today. The Company has now filed Articles of Amendment with the Registrar of Corporations for the Province of Alberta to implement the changes approved by the shareholders. Accordingly, effective today, the name of the Company is changed to "LongBow Resources Inc." and the issued and outstanding common shares of the Company as at April 5, 2007 have been consolidated on the basis of one new common share for every ten issued and outstanding common shares. Shareholders wishing to convert their old LongBow common shares must deposit their share certificates together with a duly completed letter of transmittal with the transfer agent of the Company, Olympia Trust Company. The name change and consolidation is subject to completion of all of the filing requirements of the TSX Venture Exchange (the "Exchange").

Provided the Exchange issues a bulletin with respect to the consolidation and name change on Monday, April 9, 2007, it is currently expected that the common shares of the Company will begin trading on a post-consolidation basis on Wednesday, April 11, 2007 under the trading symbol "LBR".

As a result of the consolidation, subject to rounding, there are now 16,067,020 common shares issued and outstanding in the capital of the Company.
