Longevity as a Principal Asset Class: Life Settlement Industry Leaders to Meet in November for Three Day Conference

ORLANDO, FL--(Marketwire - August 26, 2009) - As the global economy starts to show signs of a recovery, investors and their advisors are increasingly recognizing life settlements as a stable and viable asset class. In fact, a leading financial expert predicts that longevity will soon join equities, bonds, commodities and real estate as the next principal asset class. Given these recent developments, investors in the secondary market are eager to know what opportunities and challenges remain on the path to profitability. On November 8-10, the Life Insurance Settlement Association (LISA) will outline the road ahead for the industry as it convenes its 15th Annual Life Settlement Fall Conference.

LISA returns to the financial capital of the world, New York City, to present an aggressive three-day agenda for institutional buyers, individual investors and other business professionals, seeking a competitive advantage in a hard economic environment. The conference will cover hot topics such as working with overseas funding sources, effects of the Internal Revenue Service tax rulings and protecting consumer data privacy.

"The spring conference was all about trying to make sense of what had happened to the industry in the midst of an unprecedented financial meltdown," said Russel Dorsett, president of LISA and fall conference chairman. "The theme of the fall conference will be 'After the Storm -- Redefining the Industry.'"

A sneak peek at the conference agenda reveals excellent opportunities for serious minded business professionals from all sectors. Attendees will include Life Settlement Professionals, Hedge Fund Managers, Investment Bankers, Financial Advisors, Securities Investors, Attorneys and others vying for a niche in the secondary market.

"LISA's conferences are the definitive events for the life settlement industry," said Mr. Dorsett. "The other conferences ask the questions -- come to LISA for the answers."

The magnificent Marriott Marquis will host this year's event. Set in the heart of Times Square, attendees will avail themselves of all that a world class city has to offer. LISA conferences consistently offer a broad cross section of business professionals, creating a networking environment rife with possibilities. The 2009 fall conference is designed to significantly enhance your personal network. LISA Members and non-members alike mingle in a variety of settings such as networking luncheons, after-hours cocktail receptions and specialized sessions. Our Exhibitor Marketplace provides a spotlight-showcase for the industry's leading settlement players and the services they offer.

In addition, LISA is offering an exclusive 2-for-1 registration special for investors seeking to learn more about this asset class. LISA members enjoy a significantly reduced registration rate and non-members are offered a substantial rebate should they apply for and become a LISA member.
