Longhorn Solar Offers up to a $3,000 Corporate Solar Rebate to National Instruments Employees Who Sit Through a 10-Minute Rooftop Review at the NI Home & Garden Expo

All Employees Will Receive a $0.50-per-Watt Solar Rebate Toward the Purchase of up to a 6,000-Watt Solar Power Array That May Save Employees up to $800 per Year on Electric Bills

AUSTIN, TX--(Marketwire - Apr 19, 2012) - In order to celebrate Earth Day, Longhorn Solar (www.longhornsolar.com) announced a special solar rebate for all National Instruments employees that live in Austin Energy's service territory until May 31, 2012. To learn more employees can stop by Longhorn Solar's booth at the National Instruments Home & Garden Expo to be held from 11:00 am to 1:30 pm on Thursday, April 19, 2012 at 11500 N. Mopac Expressway, Austin, TX 78759.

Going green is a great way to show that NI and its employees are doing their part to make Austin a better place to breathe and raise a family. NI employees can keep track of their solar power production and allow their marketing teams to share their solar power production statistics via green community outreach campaigns to generate free publicity. NI can also show their investors how green their company is becoming by including the same facts and figures in their annual report.

To make solar irresistible, Longhorn Solar is offering a corporate solar rebate of $0.50-per-watt in addition to the current Austin Energy rebate of $2.50 per watt. National Instruments employees can also take advantage of the 30% federal tax credit, which they can use to offset their 2012 tax liability.

The total cost for a 6-kW solar power array is only $3,517 after all rebates and tax incentives are deducted from the installation cost. The solar system will generate approximately 8,400 kWhs a year of solar electricity that would be worth $810 per year at Austin Energy's current retail electricity rate of $0.0965 cents per kWh. And, if Austin Energy's proposed 12.8% rate increase is approved, the cost savings will be even higher.

Longhorn Solar offers corporate buying programs to all Austin-based businesses regardless of size. The Company provides free solar training seminars and community outreach programs to help neighborhood HOAs, property management companies, schools, businesses, home builders and local government green teams educate the general public on just how affordable solar has become.
