Los Angeles Fashion Award Nominees Announced

LOS ANGELES, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- October 4, 2005 -- Nominations and special honors for the 2005 LA Fashion Awards were announced today and include a diverse group of rising stars and industry leaders who embody and shape the energy, creativity, and vision that make Los Angeles a global fashion center. A nominating committee of 28 editors, stylists, designers and retailers selected those to be recognized at the debut event October 21, 2005 at the Orpheum Theatre.

Winners in the categories of Fashion Innovation, Retail, and Marketing will be announced at the premiere event, designed to reflect the glamour and diversity that defines Los Angeles style with a program including a cocktail reception in the Orpheum grand lobby, the awards program hosted by Melissa Rivers inside the theatre auditorium, and a VIP after-party with Angeleno Magazine at the Broadway Bar. Designer Bob Mackie and costume designer Cate Adair ("Desperate Housewives") are among the confirmed presenters.

Each winner will receive a handcrafted glass art object specially designed by renowned artist Caleb Siemon, whose work has been exhibited in museums and galleries around the world. The winner of the Moss Adams Fashion Innovator (MAFI) Award will also receive $5,000 worth of partner consulting services from Moss Adams LLP, ApparelMagic's new Version 10 Software System, and complimentary membership in Fashion Business Incorporated.
