Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation Receives Motorola Solutions Foundation Grant

Grant to Support Safety Education and Training Programs


LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwired - Feb 24, 2014) - The Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation, the major source of private support for the Los Angeles Fire Department, today announced it has received $50,000 as part of the Motorola Solutions Foundation's Public Safety and Security Institute. The Motorola Solutions Foundation is the charitable arm of Motorola Solutions, Inc. Through the grant, the LAFD Foundation will fund the FIRE Academy program for high school students throughout the city of Los Angeles. A three-year program, FIRE Academy students have a 100% high school graduation rate and have acquired skills in firefighting, emergency medicine, and leadership.

The Motorola Solutions Foundation Grants support safety education and training programs for first responders, their families and the general public in the United States and Canada.
