Endorsed by the USA Gymnastics Federation, the Team Will Serve as Consultants for the 2011 LA Lights Rhythmic Gymnastics Tournament of Champions Held in Los Angeles, January 20th to January 23rd, 2011

LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwire - September 16, 2010) - When top athletes from around the world of rhythmic gymnastics convene at the 2011 LA Lights Rhythmic Gymnastics Tournament of Champions, they will be joined by the likes of Olympians Melitina Staniouta, Liubou Charkashyna, Nataliya Leshchyk and Katsiaryna Halkina. The foursome are members of Team Belarus, which took home the bronze medal at the 2008 Olympics and scored a silver medal in the women's individual all-around. All four athletes have been confirmed to participate in the tournament, the largest multi-level rhythmic gymnastics competition in the world.

The purpose of the trip is to meet with the International Olympic Committee and the Federal International Gymnastics Federation (FIG). In addition, following the competition the LA School of Gymnastics, LA Lights Tournament of Champions committee will try to secure the Top 10 Athletes in the all-around to attend this January's LA Lights Tournament.

"This is the first time in course history in the event that our committee will be heading to an FIG sanctioned event," says Tanya Berenson, the General Manager at the LA School of Gymnastics. The trip is expected to drive more momentum to the LA School of Gymnastics, LA Lights Tournament of Champions.

"We have always had pockets of all-stars, maybe the top two or the top six, but we've never had the top 10 attend in a single year event. We are going to secure them by participation in a Federation format, on-site with the delegates from the countries from which they will be competing," says Berenson. The LA School of Gymnastics in conjunction with the USA Federation will then be in communication with those delegations to secure their participation for an all-star lineup in January.

An Olympic-quality training center, the LA School of Gymnastics has been working with young athletes since 1975 and has produced three U.S. Olympians and hundreds of internationally ranked athletes.
