For May 2007, the average listed rent price of all listed rentals in these areas was $2,055.07, representing a 4.5% increase over two months ago. This was a general price increase across all rental types, with about 34% of listings in the South Bay - Beach Cities region being houses, duplexes, or triplexes, as opposed to apartments, condos, or townhouses. This ratio of houses to apartments was relatively unchanged over two months ago, when approximately 31% of listings in these areas were listed as houses, etc.

There was almost no change in the size of the listed rentals, as measured by the number of bedrooms. About 66% of the rentals listed in the South Bay - Beach Cities region has two or more bedrooms, with the rest being studios, singles, and one bedrooms. This has changed little in the last two months, when that percentage was about 66%.

The largest rent increases occurred in El Segundo, where the total increase was 13.4% and San Pedro, where the total increase was 5.5%. Rent prices also increased in Hermosa Beach (Up 4.9%), Redondo Beach (Up 4.2%), and Manhattan Beach (Up 3.0%).

Rent prices decreased in Palos Verdes Estates by 18.8% and Torrance by 3.4%. Rent prices were also down in Rancho Palos Verdes (Down 3.2%).
