Louisiana School District Takes on Accountability and Shines

Assumption High School Instructional Coach to Discuss Pacing, Benchmarking and Aligned Curriculum During a Free Webinar on November 16th

SCOTTSDALE, AZ--(Marketwire - Nov 8, 2011) - In May 2003, Louisiana's Accountability Plan required districts to show -- with data -- that students are making academic progress. That's when Assumption's Leadership decided to use their data in a more valid, reliable and efficient way.

Recent Graduate Exit Exam results show that 10th-grade students at Assumption High School have steadily maintained advances in both reading and mathematics since the 2005-2006 school year.

Karla Ledet, Instructional Coach of Assumption Parish Schools, will describe the high school's transformation in Part 5 of ENI's webinar series on "Pacing and Assessments: Ensuring Mastery of the Standards," on Wednesday, November 16th at 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. CST. During the webinar, participants will learn about.

  • Ensuring instructional alignment with the state standards
  • Implementing an incremental instructional cycle
  • Preparing students to demonstrate proficiency with confidence

Karla Ledet says, "Assumption's leadership, administration, and staff made a commitment to our students. We now offer them the highest quality education possible. Our students are college and career-ready. And we want to tell our story."
