Louisville Chiropractor Announces Natural Headache Pain Management

LOUISVILLE, KY--(Marketwire - Apr 8, 2012) - Skye Chiropractic in Louisville, KY announced that the practice has had significant success treating patients for chronic headaches and migraines. The wellness center uses natural pain management techniques, including chiropractic adjustment, to restore proper alignment to the musculoskeletal system. The chiropractor focuses on identifying the underlying trigger for headaches, such as an old car accident injury or overreaction to allergies, and then creates customized treatment programs to address this problem. In addition to adjustments, the practice also offers Applied Kinesiology and cold laser therapies, as well as lifestyle counseling, to help naturally manage headache pain, neck pain and back pain.

Louisville patients struggling with chronic headaches and migraines have a new treatment option. Louisville chiropractor Dr. Renee Tornatore announced that Skye Chiropractic provides natural treatments for relieving headache pain. The practice's pain management treatments include chiropractic adjustments, Applied Kinesiology and laser therapy.

"Chronic headaches can be debilitating and rob individuals of the ability to live an active life," said Dr. Tornatore. "A number of different factors, such as hormone imbalance, allergies or an old personal injury can cause this pain. Our goal is to identify the underlying cause and create a personalized treatment program to address this pain."

Dr. Tornatore and fellow Louisville chiropractor Dr. Martie Blue begin by taking a patient's full medical history and performing a diagnostic exam. Their goal is to determine the underlying cause for headache pain. According to Dr. Blue, many patients suffer chronic headache pain due to an untreated car accident injury or personal injury.

"If the cervical spine is pushed beyond its normal range of motion, there is a risk that damage will occur," said Dr. Blue. "For example, the force of impact from a car accident can whip the neck backwards and forwards. This leads to a 'spinal subluxation,' a medical term for a misalignment of the cervical spine. As long as this misalignment exists, patients will continue to experience pain."

Dr. Tornatore and Dr. Blue use a combination of natural treatments to manage pain. Adjustments create space in the spine, allowing compressed vertebrae to return to their proper position. According to the chiropractors, this takes pressure off the nearby nerves, which reduces the incidence of migraines.

If allergies are identified as a primary headache trigger, Dr. Tornatore and Dr. Blue prescribe a combination of adjustments with detoxifying footbaths.

"We recognize that every patient is different, and our goal is to identify and address the unique wellness need each patient is facing," said Dr. Tornatore. "We don't use a 'one-size-fits-all' approach. All of our treatments are completely customized."

The chiropractors may also combine alternative therapies, such as Applied Kinesiology and cold laser therapy, to enhance pain relief. According to the chiropractors, these treatments help soft tissue injuries heal, reducing stress and hormonal imbalance in the body. Lifestyle changes, including dietary changes that eliminate trigger foods, may also help.

"Our message to headache suffers is simple: there is hope," said Dr. Blue. "Whether a headache is triggered by personal injury or allergies, we can help."
