Love at First Sight: The Venture Capitalist/Startup Founder Newlywed Game

MIT Enterprise Forum of Cambridge Puts Local Investors and Founders to the Test to Find Out How Well They Really Know Each Other

CAMBRIDGE, MA--(Marketwired - Jan 12, 2015) - Of all the planet's pressure-packed, potentially profitable and sometimes puzzling partnerships, those between venture investors and startup companies often stand out. Due diligence can take weeks, months, or just a few days. Once an investment is made, the outcomes can range from a smashing success to a failure to thrive -- or someplace in between. Regardless of how things unfold, though, there's no question that investors and startup execs spend a lot of time together.

But, how well do VCs really know the startups in which they invest? How well do company founders know their VCs? Find out when the MIT Enterprise Forum of Cambridge Innovation Series hosts the VC/Founder Newlywed Game on January 20, 2015.

Channeling his inner Bob Eubanks -- iconic host of the legendary TV classic, The Newlywed Game -- Dan Sally, Inbound Marketing Manager at HubSpot, will ask the evening's VC/Founder couples probing questions to learn how well they know each other. The answers, and color commentary sure to accompany them, will help everyone better understand the keys to a successful VC/Founder relationship.

The night's panelists will include prominent local investors Jeff Fagnan, Partner, Atlas Venture; Maia Heymann, Senior Managing Director, CommonAngels; Dhiraj Malkani, Partner, RockPort Capital Partners; Matt Lauzon, founder of Dunwello; Swap Shah, Co-Founder and CEO, FirstFuel; along with other investors and startups.
