Lowry Speech Therapy Opens New Office to Address Articulation Disorders and Delays

The Team at Lowry Speech Therapy Is Expanding Their Therapeutic Services for Speech and Language Delays, Social Communication Deficits and Articulation Disorders With a New Office

DENVER, CO--(Marketwire - June 9, 2009) - Lowry Speech Therapy is pleased to announce their recent expansion in the Denver area. Lowry Speech Therapy provides comprehensive services for various pediatric communication needs including articulation, speech and language delays, motor speech disorders, language disorders, and language-based learning disabilities such as Specific Language Impairment and Dyslexia.

The new location is conveniently located in the Lowry neighborhood of Denver, Colorado. Lowry Speech Therapy, which was established in 2006 by Debra Fenton, M.S., CCC-SLP, relocated on March 1 to meet its growing needs. With almost 2,000 square feet, they can provide more services including speech therapy, occupational therapy and reading intervention. Occupational therapy services including motor-based sensory integration therapy and Tomatis-based Integrated Listening Therapy are provided by Lowry Occupational Therapy.

Lowry Speech Therapy also understands rising healthcare costs and the difficult economy. They offer direct billing to insurance companies and are a provider for Medicaid and Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield. The new office features a computer language and reading lab as well. The child-friendly software will help development of early literacy skills/phonemic awareness and language concepts such as categorization, figurative language, and vocabulary building for families that cannot access the intensive services their child needs due to financial constraints.

"Parent education and training is very effective in treating speech and language disorders in children," said Fenton. "If a parent can provide some level of support on a daily basis for their child, the outcomes are much more positive than treating the child alone in a clinic setting. We really try to work with parents and teach them how to work with their child at home."

Lowry Speech Therapy also partners with The Child and Family Therapy Center to provide comprehensive team evaluations for children with learning difficulties, behavior disorders, social/emotional problems and attention related problems. "For families with significant concerns about their child, waiting 6-9 months for a comprehensive multidisciplinary evaluation at one of the local hospitals can be very frustrating to everyone involved," added Fenton. "We can help families get the services they need in an expedited manner."
