Lozupone Appointed President and CEO at North Douglas Sysco Food Services; Attention: Business/Financial Editor HOUSTON--(CCNMatthews - June 29, 2005) - HOUSTON, June 29, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- SYSCO Corporation (NYSE:SYY) announced today that Uby Lozupone has been promoted to president and chief executive officer at North Douglas Sysco Food Services, a broadline foodservice distribution subsidiary located in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. Currently he serves as general manager of that operation and will assume his new position effective July 3, 2005, the start of SYSCO's fiscal year 2006.

Mr. Lozupone, 48, has worked at the Victoria operation throughout his entire 25-year foodservice career. He first joined North Douglas Distributors in 1980 as assistant general manager and progressed to general manager in 1986. The company was acquired by SYSCO in 2000, and in 2003, he was promoted to vice president of operations. He advanced to senior vice president in 2004 and to his current position in January of this year.

Mr. Lozupone was born in Torino, Italy and raised in Victoria, British Columbia, where he also later attended the University of Victoria. He and his wife, Cherry, have a son and a daughter and reside in Victoria.

North Douglas Sysco Food Services serves approximately 2,500 institutional, commercial and retail customers including restaurants, hotels, cafeterias, grocery stores and other foodservice establishments throughout the greater Victoria area, Vancouver Island, the Sunshine Coast and the Gulf Islands of British Columbia.
