LSF Experiences Rapid Growth to Provide Human Services to 350 Percent More Families in Florida

Statewide, Non-Profit Human Services Agency Increases Services to 120,000 Floridians in Need

TAMPA, FL--(Marketwired - Jul 24, 2014) -  LSF, a non-profit organization based in Tampa, experienced continuous growth over the last four years to serve more than 120,000 families with its 60 programs. Since 2010, the organization has seen a 350 percent increase in people served through its disaster response, substance abuse and mental health, charter school, refugee resettlement, and child and family services programs.

In an effort to meet the growing needs of the community it serves, LSF increased staff by 330 percent in the last four years, resulting in more than 950 new staff positions. Recent additions include: Chris Card, COO; George Wallace, Vice President of Finance; and Louis Finney, Vice President of Head Start.

"The amount of growth we've experienced over the last few years is really a testament to the impact LSF is making across Florida," said Sam Sipes, President and CEO. "From reuniting broken families, to providing education to low-income children, to finding jobs for refugees, it's amazing to see the number of lives that have been touched by LSF workers."

An increase in funding totaling $200 million this year has helped LSF's programs grow, especially the charter school program. The expansion of the Head Start program into Pinellas, Duval, and Palm Beach counties led to 5,581 newly enrolled students in 2014.

Through love, service and faith, LSF continues to expand each division of services to meet existing needs and to bring healing, hope and help to people in need throughout Florida. Today, LSF has offices and programs in Belle Glade, Crestview, Fort Myers, Fort Walton Beach, Jacksonville, Largo, Lauderdale Lakes, Miami, Milton, New Port Richey, Oakland Park, Orlando, Pensacola, Port Charlotte, Sarasota, St. Petersburg and Tampa.
