Lucas County Ohio Selects CJS' JWorks for Modern, Integrated Solution

CANTON, OHIO--(Marketwired - Nov. 19, 2015) - CourtView Justice Solutions (CJS), an industry leader of intelligent case management systems (CMS) for courts, prosecutors, probation, and related justice agencies, has announced today that Lucas County in Toledo, Ohio has selected the JWorks CMS with its dynamic caseflow management engine to modernize their General, Juvenile, and Domestic Relations Divisions within a single, integrated solution. The new system will combine the Clerk of Courts, all Judges and Court Administration, Probation and Pretrial Supervision, Prosecutor, and the Lucas County Correctional Treatment Facility, providing an efficient and seamless case-and-person management solution to users throughout the County. The JWorks solution includes access to justice for Lucas County citizens through its online services that support inquiries, payments, and new filings over the internet.

"We're looking forward to taking our current four case management systems down to one which will enhance the sharing of information throughout the court systems," said Bernie Quilter, Lucas County Clerk of Courts. "Technology such as eFiling will allow us all to become paperless courts which adds another cost savings to the courts. We look forward to building a strong relationship with CourtView Justice Solutions."

This implementation marks the first of its kind in Ohio with Lucas County embracing the newest CMS technologies that allow the Courts' unique business rules to drive operational efficiencies and produce important performance metrics. The JWorks solution will also eliminate duplication across departments and modernize how case filings are received and managed through a real-time, online eFiling solution that can be shared across divisions.

"We are thrilled that Lucas County selected JWorks to integrate its Prosecutor, Court of Common Pleas, and Clerk of Court operations," says Kevin Bade, CJS General Manager. "Since JWorks will adapt to the various business objectives of each division and department, the county can now implement a single system with the 'smarts' to handle the unique procedures and requirements of different cases and legal circumstances. The entire community will benefit from the responsive design of JWorks, which provides the courts, their justice partners, and citizens with anywhere, anytime access from virtually any device, including tablets and smartphones."
