MEMPHIS, TN--(Marketwired - Sep 3, 2014) - Lucite International Inc., owner of the LuciteLux® acrylic brand, today announced entries into its second annual JUST IMAGINE Awards program are due September 15, 2014. Designers can enter their work with LuciteLux® for a chance to be featured in a full-page spread in Architectural Record as well as a mini making-of documentary that tells the story of the designer's work with LuciteLux®. The video will debut at an exclusive screening party at the site of the winning installation this fall. Design Milk, the popular website dedicated to modern design, will also showcase the winner and their documentary in a sponsored feature.
Entering the JUST IMAGINE Awards is easy and the prize package is valued at nearly $30,000. To submit, designers must upload a photo of their projects and answer three quick questions about the design via www.lucitelux.com. Any project completed using LuciteLux® between 2012 and 2014 is eligible.
The JUST IMAGINE Awards invite professional designers to submit their completed work using LuciteLux® for review by an esteemed judging panel, including Jaime Derringer, founder and executive editor of Design Milk. Other judges are:
- Aaron R. Thomas, designer, architect and artist
- Anne-Louise Ewen, fine artist and LuciteLux® painter/sculptor
- Jamer Hunt, director of the experimental graduate program in transdisciplinary design at Parsons The New School for Design
- Jason Kelly Johnson and Nataly Gattegno, architects and founders of Future Cities Lab
- Ron Labaco, Marcia Docter Curator for the Museum of Arts & Design
- Chris Robinson, business manager, Lucite International Inc.

Last year's JUST IMAGINE Awards winner was Light At Play, who created the Radiance Dome, an immersive LED dome design that housed a 1,200 square foot dance floor at the 2013 Burning Man festival.
JUST IMAGINE Awards Details
Designers from all industries are welcome to enter: architects, fabricators, fine artists, visual merchandising designers, furniture designers, interior designers, sign designers, commercial artists, fashion designers and design students.
The judging criteria are:
- To what extent does the entry optimize the properties and design qualities of LuciteLux® continuous cast or cell cast acrylic
- To what extent does the entry meet its defined purpose in a highly creative way
- To what extent does the entry demonstrate innovation and uniqueness
The JUST IMAGINE Awards will also honor a runner-up with inclusion in the winner's news release, presence on the LuciteLux® social media pages and a mention in the making-of documentary.
