The existing roadway, located in a busy commercial-industrial precinct of Adelaide, carries between 35,000-40,000 vehicles each day, including a large percentage of commercial vehicles.

One of the major innovations of the project is the design of the elevated superway. "We wanted to ensure that we created a piece of infrastructure that fit within the environment, that was able to complement and enhance the environment and not give the impression of a 'concrete jungle,'" Rossi explains.
