Marketers Share Widespread Disappointment With Traditional Marketing Support Programs

REDWOOD CITY, CA--(Marketwire - March 28, 2011) -

Luma Technologies, a global provider of an on-demand marketing platform for field and channel sales, today announced that according to results from a recent survey on Channel Marketing Optimization, a third of respondents fear that locally developed marketing programs will potentially misuse their brand, logo, or marketing message.

The report, sponsored by Luma Technologies, was conducted by Gatepoint Research. 84% of the responders are employed at the director level or higher. All responders are employed by companies generating more than $1 billion in revenue. You can download the full survey here

Other Survey Conclusions

  • There is widespread disappointment with marketing support programs; most are viewed as only modestly effective, modestly responsive, and not very easy to use.
  • 82% of responders plan to spend the same or more this year on channel marketing programs.
  • Despite growth in email marketing (73% of responders), 40% still rely on direct mail.

"We found the results of the survey enlightening - specifically that a third of marketers surveyed find that their local marketing programs are potentially misusing their brand, logo or marketing message," said Erik Laurijssen, Luma CMO and executive vice president of platform, alliances and channels. "Luma's multi-channel marketing platform includes the ability to create and print timely, personalized and localized marketing materials. This supports brand consistency, improving customer engagement and driving sales."
