Luminus Devices Hires Two Industry Veterans to Strengthen Sales and Marketing Team

Matt Mazzuchi and Paul Fredrickson Bring Extensive Technical Knowledge and Expertise in the Consumer Electronics Industry to Inventors of PhlatLight™ Technology

WOBURN, MA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- April 2, 2007 -- Luminus Devices, Inc. today announced that it has expanded its staff with two key appointments in sales and marketing. Matt Mazzuchi has been appointed as director of sales and business development, and Paul Fredrickson has been appointed as director of marketing.

"Our manufacturing capacity has increased significantly as Samsung and LG Electronics are both launching new PhlatLight-based products this quarter. Paul Fredrickson, director of marketing, has extensive experience in marketing new brands and technology to the consumer electronics channel and was formerly the vice president of marketing and strategic planning at NuVision, an affiliate of Mitsui Comtek and marketer of premium digital televisions. Prior to that, Fredrickson worked as senior vice president of marketing at Loewe Opta, Inc., a developer and manufacturer of premium televisions. He has also held senior marketing positions at the Home and Garden Television Network, Philips Consumer Electronics Company and RCA Consumer Electronics.

"Paul has many years of marketing experience in the television industry. He brings a depth of skills plus knowledge of markets and technology that will help our customers to more effectively promote PhlatLight-enabled products to retailers and consumers," said Langevin.

Matt Mazzuchi, director of sales and business development, has extensive experience in sales and marketing in the display industry and an in-depth knowledge of microdisplay light engines, optics and illumination. He was formerly the vice president of sales at LUXIM Corporation. Prior to that, Mazzuchi held various sales and marketing positions at JDS Uniphase and the BOC Group.

"Matt has a proven track record of selling optical components to the microdisplay television and projector industry. He will help us grow our customer base and sales organization as we add new PhlatLight products and expand into new markets," added Langevin.

Since publicly launching in January 2006, Luminus has significantly ramped up shipments of its PhlatLight chipsets. Luminus' latest LED chipset, the PhlatLight PT120, is currently being mass produced and used in projection TVs with screen sizes up to 61 inches, while its PT39 chipset is being used in LG Electronics' HS101 pocket projector, the brightest commercially available LED front projector. The company continues to lead the industry in developing breakthrough LED light sources for advanced displays and other high-brightness applications.
