Luminus Financial and Ontario Credit Union Charitable Foundation Partners to Raise Funds for Victims of Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - Nov. 13, 2013) - Luminus Financial (Luminus) is pleased to announce that it has partnered with the Ontario Credit Union Charitable Foundation (OCUCF) to raise funds in support of the victims affected by the typhoon in the Philippines.

"The people in the Philippines are in our thoughts and prayers," said George De La Rosa, CEO of Luminus Financial. "The Filipino spirit is strong and resilient amidst great adversity. We will continue to support them in the days and months ahead as we learn the true impact caused by Typhoon Haiyan."

As a way to begin relief efforts, Luminus will waive remittance fees until November 30, 2013. Additionally, Luminus has committed to match every dollar donated by its members to OCUCF's CanHelp program (www.ontariocucf.ca/news) in support of Typhoon Haiyan's victims.

Toronto's Filipino community has already shown great support for Luminus' efforts.
