Luxury Hotel in Goa Kicks Off Environment Awareness Month

PANAJI, INDIA--(Marketwire - Apr 13, 2012) - Goa Marriott Resort & Spa dons a green avatar this April! This is the fourth year running that the Goa spa resort has observed April as Environment Awareness Month, and a slew of activities has been lined up in an effort to spread awareness about the detrimental environmental effects of climate change.

On 12^th April, the Caritas orphanage in Thivim, which the resort maintains close ties with, will be resplendently green as the Goa Marriott Associates, along with the children of Caritas, undertake a vegetable garden plantation drive. On 21^st April, a Green Walkathon will be organized from the resort to Dona Paula and back, whereby Goa Marriott Associates and guests will reaffirm their solidarity with nature. As a resort known for Goa event planning, the resort has also planned a variety of exciting activities throughout the month for its Associates. On 5^th April, a Green-themed lunch will be offered to Associates at the staff cafeteria. Goa Marriott will organize a Best Out of Waste competition for its Associates on 17^th April. The Click-a-picture submission is scheduled on 23^rd April, while an Inter-house quiz competition on Green Facts discussed throughout the month will be held on 25^th April. The resort will host a drawing competition for Associates' children on 28^th April.

The resort had also observed Earth Hour on 31^st March from 8.30 pm to 9.30 pm, with all non-essential lights in the hotel switched off, including those in our Goa nightclub, and active involvement of Guests and Associates amid a candlelit ambience. Associates were educated about the cause in case they needed to elaborate the same to interested Guests.
