Luxury Institute Survey: Wealthy Consumers Rate Most Effective Brokerage Websites of 2007, Edward Jones, Charles Schwab and TD Ameritrade

NEW YORK, NY -- (MARKET WIRE) -- April 17, 2007 -- Edward Jones' website was rated the most effective financial brokerage website in the 2007 Luxury Website Effectiveness Index survey (LBSI) of Financial Brokers from the independent New York-based Luxury Institute. Charles Schwab was a close second, followed by TD Ameritrade.

"This research documents that the Internet has emerged as the most critical channel for wealthy consumers in many areas of life. As the number of wealthy consumers who require financial services grows rapidly, and as wealthy consumers demand transparency and non-conflicted peer reviews, it is essential that financial executives and wealthy consumers understand which firms' websites deliver what they really need, and which don't," said Milton Pedraza, CEO of the Luxury Institute. "The Institute's impartial, quantitative surveys reveal key insights for executives responsible for this critical channel. Executives tell us that the candid consumer commentary in the report delivers a brand-by-brand case study of how to enhance each website."

Brands rated (alphabetically): A.G. Edwards, Ameriprise Financial, Banc of America, Charles Schwab Corp., E*Trade , Edward Jones, Fidelity Brokerage Services, Merrill Lynch Co., Oppenheimer Co., Smith Barney, TD Ameritrade, UBS Financial Services, Wachovia Securities, and Wells Fargo Investments.
