LVMH France Argentine Cosmetics, S.A., Chooses IBM Information Server as Data Integration Platform for Supply Chain Automation

ARMONK, NY -- (MARKET WIRE) -- December 4, 2006 -- IBM (NYSE: IBM) announced today that LVMH France Argentine Cosmetics, S.A., a subsidiary of LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton, and a leading provider of luxury goods with brand names such as Christian Dior, Guerlain, Givenchy and Kenzo, has selected IBM Information Integration Solutions to create an integrated information management environment.

LVMH France Argentine Cosmetics has selected IBM Information Server, a first-of-a-kind software platform, to transform and deliver trusted information to the company's business processes, synchronizing and delivering up-to-date information among LVMH France Argentine Cosmetics sales representatives, LVMH corporate headquarters in France, their retailers and suppliers. The project has helped the company automate manual processes, provide real-time information about customers and order information, streamline logistics, and help address compliance needs.

"LVMH offers a unique portfolio of some of the world's leading luxury brands," said Marcelo Armentano, financial director, LVMH France Argentine Cosmetics. "Precision in dealing with our customers and suppliers is critical in upholding the standards our brand represents. IBM Information Server helps automate our entire logistics process by delivering accurate, up-to-date information to our business process to ensure from the moment an order is received to the moment that same order is delivered, our retailers are getting precisely what they need, as efficiently as possible."

Undertaking a company-wide project for sales force automation and logistics Integration, LVMH turned to IBM Business Partner Focus Business Solutions for consulting expertise and integration services on the project. Already advising LVMH for the past two years, Focus Business Solutions provided design, testing and implementation throughout all stages of the initiative.

At the center of this project is IBM Information Server, which delivers trusted, real-time information to hand-held devices used by the company's sales force. IBM Information Server enables customer purchase orders to be input directly into LVMH's SAP applications and warehouse management system while it enables a single version of customer and order master data information to be delivered for order status management. To provide LVMH sales persons with real-time, accurate customer information, each time they connect hand held devices to the Web, the latest information automatically replicates to their device. These devices are also used to transmit orders to a central repository where they are immediately loaded into the SAP applications.

The IT project has dramatically improved productivity by increasing quantity of daily deliveries by 100 percent. Additional savings have also resulted in improved decision making by providing more up-to-date business information to the sales force, as well as time savings and risk reduction by automating previously manual order entry processes. Another important benefit of the project has been the ability to track order delivery in detail. This helps prevent products like perfumes and cosmetics from being sold on the grey market, and provides important information in case of a product recall. As a result, LVMH France Argentine Cosmetics S.A. is now one of only three LVMH operations in the world to meet the company's highest level of operations compliance.

"Optimizing business operations, applications, people, and processes requires on demand access to critical information the business can trust," said Pete Fiore, vice president, IBM Information Integration Solutions. "IBM Information Server unlocks information from its application and process silos, and improves confidence in information by providing better control over data, enabling clients like LVMH to overhaul some of their most important business process such as sales force automation and logistics integration."

IBM Information Server is currently available from IBM and IBM Business Partners.
