LXI Consortium and Test & Measurement World Magazine Sponsor Free Webcast on Best Practices

NIWOT, CO--(Marketwire - September 30, 2009) - The LXI Consortium (www.lxistandard.org), a not-for-profit corporation managing the LXI Standard (LAN eXtensions for Instrumentation), is co-sponsoring a free webcast seminar in partnership with Test & Measurement World magazine. The seminar, "How to Create Advanced ATE Systems with LXI: Building on the Industry's Best Practices," will be broadcast on Tuesday, October 13, 2009, starting at 1:00 pm ET (10:00 am PT). The webcast will be moderated by Test & Measurement World editor Rick Nelson. Presenters will include Rob Purser, The MathWorks; Bob Stasonis, Pickering Interfaces; and Tom Sarfi, VTI Instruments. During the webcast, the presenters will address executing best practices in test system design and troubleshooting techniques. Among the specific topics to be addressed are:

--  What are the advantages of putting test systems online?
--  What is the difference between LAN (Local Area Network) and LXI (LAN
    eXtensions for Instrumentation) instruments?
--  How does LXI work with existing equipment?
    

This webcast will offer attendees an overview of these topics, and guide them through VPN and network access/connection issues, IT department coordination, and security considerations. The webcast will wrap up with a review of the advanced capabilities provided by LXI Class A and B instruments. After the recording, the presenters will be available to answer questions live. For those unable to attend the live broadcast, the webcast will be archived for viewing on both the LXI Consortium and T&MW (www.tmworld.com) websites.
