Lyatiss Introduces CloudWeaver FlowMapper for Efficient Cloud Infrastructure Performance Control

Company Experiences 400 Percent Customer Growth in Two Months for CloudWeaver Application Defined Networking Solutions

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA--(Marketwired - Jun 25, 2013) - Lyatiss®, a software company providing application defined networking (ADN) solutions for the cloud, today introduced FlowMapper, an innovative network monitoring sensor technology that provides flow intelligence for application administrators and DevOps teams. It delivers key insights into bandwidth and latency patterns and detects bottlenecks before they impact application performance. FlowMapper is the newest product from the Lyatiss CloudWeaver platform, which provides deep visibility and intuitive orchestration of cloud network resources with other services to deliver greater cloud infrastructure control and performance. Over the past quarter, Lyatiss has seen its CloudWeaver user base grow more than 400 percent, as customers adopt ADN solutions to improve control over mission-critical cloud applications.

"As organizations increasingly rely on the cloud to roll out their business applications, the demand for predictable performance rises significantly," said Pascale Vicat-Blanc, CEO of Lyatiss. "CloudWeaver FlowMapper helps solve the complex problems of diagnosing and preventing latency and bottleneck issues that impact overall application response time. FlowMapper enables network sensors to exploit the intelligence of the transport layer, which amplifies the work of protocols and the operating system without adding extraneous processing demands or requiring data transmission that could further hamper performance."

Available today as a free beta trial, FlowMapper is comprised of easy-to-use, preconfigured network sensors that can be natively integrated into operating systems and transparently deployed with initiation of each instance or virtual resource, or after the fact with Chef or Puppet scripts. The commercial version of FlowMapper will be available July 15, 2013.

FlowMapper's transport layer instrumentation is very cost-effective in terms of data collection and processing, and can deliver valuable and actionable granular information for real-time detection and remediation of problems with cloud-based applications. In addition, CloudWeaver sensors offer flexible data sampling, enabling users to adjust the depth and detail of knowledge required by the application or the analytics.

SecludIT, a provider of cloud security solutions for Amazon Web Services, is among the first users of FlowMapper. "CloudWeaver's FlowMapper intuitive UI helped us filter out unnecessary information and allowed us, for the first time, to correlate instance and flow information. We are now able to identify and get rid of bottlenecks in minutes rather than days," said Sergio Loureiro, CEO of SecludIT.

FlowMapper is the second product that is available through the CloudWeaver ADN environment. Last month, Lyatiss announced general availability of Discovery, a free inventory tool that enables developers and systems administrators to map their Amazon Web Service (AWS) cloud infrastructure, enabling them to ensure they always have an up-to-date picture of what resources are deployed and where, worldwide.

"CloudWeaver Discovery is a must-have for any cloud architect," Guillaume Plessi, IT Operations manager at Textme, a multi-platform application for texting and calling. "Discovery's efficient search and clean UI enabled us to adjust our high-availability strategy by spreading every instance in the right region and availability zone, and helped us save money by identifying our lost computing resources."

Lyatiss leads the market in ADN solutions, which sense and orchestrate application flows and virtual paths, rather than inspecting and controlling individual packets within the network infrastructure, which is the approach taken by DPI and software defined networking (SDN) companies. ADN accelerates and streamlines movement of data through the entire virtual infrastructure of each application by abstracting the network at the level relevant to the application. With ADN, applications can adapt their networking environments autonomously, using APIs, so that their delivery and performance across public and private cloud networks are optimized, without compromising portability or security.
