Lyfe Communications Announces Provisional Patent Filing for Real Time Adaptive Stream Switching

Stream Switching Achieves High Quality, Reliable Video Backhaul Over Data Networks, Allowing Video to Be Sourced From Any Location With a Data Connection

SALT LAKE CITY, UT--(Marketwire - Nov 8, 2011) - Lyfe Communications, Inc. (OTCBB: LYFE), a technology leader in the development of next generation media services integrating TV, high-speed Internet and enhanced voice services, today announced that it has filed for provisional patents around its Real Time Adaptive Stream Switching technology.

This technology changes the traditional concept of the cable headend. Instead of operating expensive, dedicated backhaul video networks that connect the video source to the headend, the technology allows video to be delivered uninterrupted over private or public data networks, like the Internet. TV quality content can be sourced from any location, without the need to aggregate channels in a local headend.

"There are two different classes of video distribution today: High Quality TV and Best Efforts Web. This technology changes that," said Greg Smith, CEO of Lyfe Communications. "It opens Television distribution for both domestic and international content providers. They can deliver the quality required for Television service with the cost and reach of ubiquitous data networks. That means much broader reach for existing content providers and more channel choices for consumers."
