Lynda Brown-Ganzert and Prem Singhmar Appointed as Directors of the Canada Foundation for Innovation

Industry Minister James Moore, along with the Minister of State (Science and Technology) Ed Holder, today announced the appointment of Lynda Brown-Ganzert and Prem Singhmar as Directors of the Canada Foundation for Innovation (CFI), effective June 18, 2015.

Ms. Lynda Brown-Ganzert is the founder and CEO of Curatio, the world's first social health prescription. She is widely regarded as a digital media expert and has played an active role in growing the sector across Canada.
Mr. Singhmar is President of Singhmar Developments Inc., AUM Hotel Group Inc. and Singhmar Acres Ltd.

Created by the Government of Canada in 1997, the CFI strives to build Canada's capacity to undertake world-class research and technology development that helps create jobs and grow the Canadian economy.

  • Ms. Lynda Brown-Ganzert has won numerous awards as an entrepreneur including Top 40 Under 40, Novartis Health 2.0 Global Challenge and Metabridge 2015. She has served on numerous boards and was most recently recognized as Chair Emerita as Simon Fraser University, where she had previously graduated with a Master of Education and a Bachelor of Arts (Communications).
  • Mr. Prem Singhmar has a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from the Government Medical College in Srinagar, India, and a Master of Surgery from the Ophthalmology Medical College in Rohtak, India. After immigrating to Canada in 1985, he became a farmer now operating more than 20,000 acres and a real estate developer. A strong community supporter, Mr. Singhmar has given generously to the University of Alberta to and the Art Gallery of Alberta. He has extensive board experience as a member of the Judicial Council of Alberta, the Board of Governors of Concordia University College in Edmonton and as Trustee on the Alberta Cancer Foundation.
