DETAILS:

"Stop Training. Start Learning"

During this session, Michael Ninness, senior vice president of Product and Content for lynda.com, will challenge the status quo of standardized training with the 'new normal' of individualized learning. He will share research-based strategies and concrete examples to shed light on how to implement learning programs that resonate across age groups and backgrounds to inspire people to want to learn. Attendees will also learn about the education evolution currently transforming academia and how it applies to the corporate world; why learning has become the new training; how to reach everyone from baby boomers to YouTubers; and how to flip company culture from employees being told they need training to them wanting to learn.

"Learning Doesn't Have to Happen in a Classroom: The Mobile Learner"

This session will explore how the new culture of mobility defies constraints of the training room and traditional e-learning, causing employees to look for innovative ways to access information anywhere and at any time. Koreen Olbrish, senior product manager, lyndaCampus, for lynda.com, will help participants to identify what their organizations need to do in order to meet demand for a mobile learning strategy. Attendees will learn how to describe the 'mobile learner,' in terms of who they are, what they want and expect, why they want it and how they can meet their needs.

"Performance Support 'Tools of the Trade': Vendors' Perspectives on What Works"

Like any other learning strategy, tools are needed to make performance support work. Over the past several years, many successful vendors have emerged in this space, providing both software and services. During this session, Ninness joins a panel discussion moderated by Bob Baker of The Learning CONSORTIUM to provide a candid view from the vendor side of the current and future state of this emerging discipline. The panel will also address how a learning organization can design, build, implement and measure performance support; the new features, outputs and trends to expect from performance support vendors; and how performance support software and tools "play" with existing learning design tools, such as Captivate, Lectora and even PowerPoint.

These three sessions are designed for professionals in learning and development, human resources and training, talent management and anyone responsible for improving performance within an organization. Attendees of Learning 2012 who wish to learn more about how they can effectively implement mobile online learning solutions are encouraged to attend these informative sessions led by lynda.com's experts.
