M86 Security Boosts Award-Winning Web Filtering and Reporting Solution With CIPA-Compliant Online Video Access

New M86 Web Filtering & Reporting Suite 4.1 Integrates M86 VuSafe Library for AUP and CIPA-Compliant YouTube Video Use in Schools

ORANGE, CA--(Marketwire - Apr 28, 2011) - M86 Security, the global expert in real-time Web and email threat protection, today announced the availability of M86 Web Filtering and Reporting Suite (WFR) version 4.1, featuring the integration of its successful M86 VuSafe service for K-12 schools. M86 VuSafe is an easy-to-use, secure, video library enabling educators to find, tag, organize and share online videos from YouTube without showing inappropriate videos, advertisements, viewer comments or outside links. This provides educators and students with the safe learning environment combined with powerful video resources available online.

With all U.S. K-12 schools required to comply with the Child Information Protection Act (CIPA) of 2001, and the importance of Acceptable Use Policies (AUP), the integration of M86 VuSafe with M86 WFR 4.1 provides a proven solution to allow educators to use the power of online video in their classrooms while assuring that students are protected from inappropriate information. Within the first four weeks after its introduction in February, M86 received more than 3,000 registrations from U.S. schools to use VuSafe for online video access.

"With the continuous growth of Internet threats, one of the biggest challenges for schools is whether to block valuable online video resources in order to comply with child protection regulation," says Dale Bruckhart, vice president, public sector sales and marketing, Digital BackOffice, U.S. M86 partner for three years. "With M86 VuSafe and its integration with the M86 WFR Suite, schools can achieve both objectives -- allowing us to provide more value to schools."

The M86 WFR 4.1 includes enhanced reporting capabilities while increasing the manageability and range of information that can be processed. M86 Web Filtering and Reporting offers fast and wide-ranging filtering capabilities that are able to filter millions of websites in hundreds of categories, blocking content that conflicts with policy or regulations. Additionally, it can also block hundreds of applications that are not in line with school policies and is scalable for organizations with many different locations or departments, or for school districts with several schools to manage.

"The integration of M86 VuSafe into the M86 Web Filter and Reporter 4.1 suite has been a critical enhancement for this release," says Werner Thalmeier, vice president of product management, M86 Security. "All our Web Filter and Reporter customers will be able to maximize their M86 WFR investment with M86 VuSafe which we offer free of charge."

The M86 WFR 4.1 is available immediately from authorized M86 channel partners. M86 VuSafe is available free of charge and for more information, please visit: http://www.m86vusafe.com/.
