M86 Security CEO John Vigouroux to Be Featured Panelist on the Competing Approaches to Security Challenges at AGC's 7th Annual Information Security Conference

Pre-Eminent Information Security Investor Gathering to Take Place in San Francisco Feb. 14

ORANGE, CA--(Marketwire - February 8, 2011) - Calling on C-suite executives to take a larger leadership role in ensuring the security health of the global business community, John Vigouroux, CEO, M86 Security, will speak on a panel titled, "Competing Approaches to Security Challenges," discussing the growing threat of e-criminals and the aggressive means by which enterprises are taking them on at AGC's 7th Annual Information Security Conference in San Francisco, Monday, Feb. 14.

Vigouroux, recognized as one of the foremost authorities in the information security industry, took the helm of M86 Security, the global expert in real-time Web and email threat protection, in April 2009. According to Vigouroux, M86 has identified the rise in remote users accessing networks from the Internet via multiple devices, as well as the increase in social media use, as some of the critical challenges the company is helping its customers face head on. He will join panelists from several fellow network security firms in this session following the morning keynote.

"With the significant rise in Internet security issues in the past five years, businesses are finding themselves constantly challenged to combat those threats," notes Vigouroux. "Our own security research labs are reporting on more advanced threats that are constantly evolving to evade detection. The onslaught of attacks and security threats coupled with a multitude of endpoints means there are an exponential amount of vulnerabilities that demand protection. CEOs can and must play a key role in partnering with security solution vendors who are innovative in their approach to thwarting cyber-criminal intentions."

Citing current malware security threats, such as Stuxnet, the computer worm that targets industrial software and equipment, and ZeuS, the Trojan horse that steals banking information, as well as the international uproar over WikiLeaks, Vigouroux explains that the panel will look at traditional endpoint security and discuss new approaches that are being tried and proving useful in tackling today's security challenges.

The AGC Conference, considered a pre-eminent information security investor conference, is hosted by America's Growth Capital (AGC), a full-service, partner-owned boutique investment bank. With offices in Boston, Silicon Valley, and Israel, the company provides mergers and acquisitions, private capital and capital market advisory services.

The conference annually attracts more than 130 leading public and private security companies, and in excess of 500 attendees, including public and private equity investors, corporate development executives and other industry professionals. Conference participants can take part in four tracks, including panels and keynotes, and public and private company presentations, in addition to one-on-one investor meetings.
