M86 Security Director of Federal Operations Jim Beaupre to Lead Industry Advisory Council (IAC)

Beaupre to Bring Federal IT Leadership and Experience to Organization Dedicated to Improving the Use of IT in Government

ORANGE, CA--(Marketwire - Jul 6, 2011) - M86 Security, the global expert in real-time Web and email threat protection, today announced that Jim Beaupre, director of federal operations, will next month begin his tenure as chairman of the Industry Advisory Council (IAC), part of the ACT-IAC public-private partnership dedicated to improving government through the application of information technology. Beaupre has supported the IAC for over 20 years, and was elected executive vice chairman of the council in 2010, a position which precedes the chairmanship.

The chair of the IAC plays a vital role in setting the organization's strategic direction and in fulfilling its mission and leading the efforts of its more than 500 member companies.

"Jim's election to the IAC Board is a testament to his strong leadership in the government IT community and his valuable experience in the private sector," said Luis Curet, Senior Vice-President Americas, M86 Security. "As chair of the IAC Board, Jim will be tasked with the exciting goal of managing the critical collaboration between the public and private IT sectors. We applaud his commitment to the industry and fully support his efforts in this important appointment."

"An important contribution of ACT-IAC is to bring industry and government executives together in a non-confrontational, non-commercial environment to exchange ideas on improving the use of IT in government," said Beaupre. "With new challenges coming from the administration, we need to continue building an enduring organization that supports the technology efforts of the government in a way that is sustainable. I'm honored to be given the opportunity to lead that campaign and take the organization into its third decade."

Beaupre joined M86 Security in January 2011 as director of federal operations. Prior to M86 Security, he directed FedResults, which he founded in 1997 to help support companies executing business development programs to capture business in the federal sector. Beaupre began his career in public service with the State of Rhode Island and the Department of Transportation where he was a software developer, systems analyst, instructor, speaker, transportation consultant, project manager and COTR. Beaupre graduated from Providence College and has been active in many organizations including AFCEA, NVTC, ITAA and ACT-IAC.
