MAC 1 Industries, a World Leader in LED Lighting, Is in Negotiations With City of Hallandale Beach to Replace Incandescent Lighting

BROWARD COUNTY, FL--(Marketwire - February 24, 2009) - Publicly traded MAC 1 Industries, Inc. (PINKSHEETS: MIRA), located in Florida, is in talks with the City of Hallandale Beach Florida for the replacement of the incandescent bulbs in the city's facilities. According to city mayor Joy Cooper the city is looking at a bid to retrofit the entire City Hall building located at 400 S. Federal Highway, in Hallandale Beach, Florida with LED lights. The city manager's office purchasing staff has confirmed that the City of Hallandale Beach has many incentives from the Florida State government to turn green to conserve energy. MAC 1(MIRA) executives have been holding talks with the City of Hallandale Beach and are gearing up to present a bid for light bulb replacement with MAC 1's energy saving LED light bulbs.

Governor Charlie Christ is pushing his "Green Initiative" by granting many incentives to municipalities, and county governments to take on green projects that will reduce energy consumption, save on energy costs, and be friendly to the environment. Cities and other municipal bodies in Florida and throughout the country are jumping on the band-wagon to take advantage of the myriad of incentives, grants and assistance being offered on the state as well as the federal level.
