Macdonald-Cartier Bridge Rehabilitation Project-Lane Modifications During Construction Work

GATINEAU, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - Nov. 24, 2014) - Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC) wishes to inform motorists that the configuration of traffic lanes on the Macdonald-Cartier Bridge will be modified.

From November 24, 2014, to March 31, 2015, when no construction work is taking place, three traffic lanes will be open in each direction.

During specific construction work, the following lane configurations will take place:

  • During weekday morning and afternoon off-peak hours, a minimum of two lanes will be open in each direction.
  • More restrictive lane closures will be required on weekends or weekdays between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m., where one lane will be open in each direction.

In addition to these lane configurations, some short-term closures will be required during this construction work. These closures will take place during off-peak hours.

One of the sidewalks will always be open. Signs will be in place to inform pedestrians and cyclists which sidewalk to use.

PWGSC encourages users to exercise caution when travelling in the construction zone and thanks them for their patience.

Please note this schedule may change due to weather conditions or other factors beyond our control.
