Macdonald-Cartier Bridge Rehabilitation Project: Lane Modifications During Construction Work

GATINEAU, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - Nov. 27, 2015) - Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC) wishes to advise motorists that the configuration of traffic lanes will continue to be modified due to construction work on the Macdonald-Cartier Bridge.
Until the end of December 2015, the following lane configurations will take place:

  • Monday to Friday from 6 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. (morning peak hours)-three Ottawa-bound lanes and two Gatineau-bound lanes will be open.
  • Monday to Friday from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. (afternoon peak hours) -two Ottawa-bound lanes and three Gatineau-bound lanes will be open.
  • During off-peak hours, two lanes will be open in each direction.
  • For specific work, more restrictive lane closures will be required during off-peak hours, where a minimum of one lane will be open in each direction.

At least one sidewalk will be open to pedestrians and cyclists throughout this period.

The schedule may change due to weather conditions.

PWGSC encourages users to exercise caution when travelling in the construction zone and thanks them for their patience.
