MADD Canada and Irving Oil Launch Project Red Ribbon in Atlantic Canada

HALIFAX, NOVA SCOTIA--(Marketwired - Dec. 5, 2013) - Irving Oil and MADD Canada are asking Atlantic Canadians to wear a red ribbon this holiday season as a sign of their commitment to sober driving.

Together with Halifax Mayor Mike Savage and Halifax Regional Municipality Public Safety Officer Staff Sergeant Scott MacDonald, Irving Oil and MADD Canada are hosting a regional launch of the Project Red Ribbon campaign.

Project Red Ribbon targets the Christmas and New Year holiday season as it is the busiest time of year on most social calendars, and the risk of impaired driving is high. From now until January 6, MADD Canada Chapters and Community Leaders will be handing out red ribbons and educational material to remind Canadians that they have the power to prevent impaired driving.
