MADD Canada debuts French Multi-Media Program in NB

MADD Canada’s first-ever French High School Multi-Media Assembly Program will educate students about the dangers of impaired driving.

Attention: Assignment Editor, City Editor, News Editor, Photo Editor OAKVILLE/ONTARIO/MEDIA ADVISORY--(Marketwire - Sept. 25, 2009) - Young people never think a road crash will happen to them, but the numbers tell a different story. Road crashes are the number one cause of teen death in Canada and alcohol is a factor in 45% of those crashes.

MADD Canada is seeking to reduce the number of young people being killed and injured on our roads with its 2009-2010 High School Multi-Media Assembly Program.

With the support of Alcool NB Liquor, this dynamic multi-media program is now available in both languages for the first time.

The first-ever French High School Multi-Media Assembly Program, Fini, debuts at Polyvalente Mathieu Martin in Dieppe, New Brunswick on September 28.

Media are welcome to join students, staff and special guests for the premiere screening:

Date: Monday, September 28, 2009
Time: 11:15 a.m.
Location: Polyvalente Mathieu Martin, 511 rue Champlain, Dieppe NB, E1A 1P2 Phone: 506-856-2771

MADD Canada Spokesperson Marie Claude Morin, Minister of Finance Greg Byrne and Alcool NB Liquor President & CEO Dana Clendenning and members of the school staff and student body will be available to speak with media about the program.

The High School Multi-Media Assembly Program has been an important educational resource for a number of years, but resources to produce and deliver the full program in French had not been available until now. Thanks to the generous support of sponsors including Alcool NB Liquor, this program is now available to French high schools across the country.

September marks the start of a 10-month cross-country tour of Fini and its English counterpart, Wasted. The programs will be seen by approximately 1 million students throughout the school year.
