MADD Canada Multi-Media high school show tours Manitoba

Province-wide tour to educate students about impaired driving kicks off in Winnipeg

Attention: Assignment Editor, City Editor, Education Editor, News Editor, Photo Editor OAKVILLE, ONTARIO, MEDIA ADVISORY --(Marketwire - April 9, 2009) - MADD Canada is launching a bold new Multi-Media Assembly Program with a provincial premiere for students at R. B. Russell Vocational High School in Winnipeg on April 14th, along with Provincial Sponsor Manitoba Public Insurance.

MADD Canada's 2009 Multi-Media production, entitled Dead on Arrival, will be delivered to high school students throughout Manitoba to illustrate the tragic consequences of impaired driving. On average, four people are killed and 207 people are injured every day in this country as a result of impaired driving. Teens and young adults are at particularly high risk; one in three people who die on Canada's roads due to alcohol-related crashes are under the age of 25.

Manitoba Public Insurance is sponsoring 60 shows directly and is helping present all other shows throughout the province.

Dead on Arrival began touring the country at the start of the school year in September. By the time the tour concludes in June, approximately 700,000 students will have seen the program and heard the message about preventing impaired driving.

Media are welcome to attend the provincial premiere and program launch.
