MADD Canada's First GTA Walk-a-Thon Features 5 KM Run/Walk and a Special Performance by Country Musician Jamie Stever

OAKVILLE, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - June 6, 2013) - Lace up those running shoes and join MADD Canada on Sunday, June 9 as it brings its signature walk-a-thon to the Greater Toronto Area for the first time ever. Strides for Change is a 5 km run/walk or 1 km walk to support MADD Canada's mission to stop impaired driving and to support victims of this violent crime.

Headlining the event will be country musician Jamie Stever, who will perform his latest song, No One's Stronger Than a Mother. Mr. Stever is using the song to raise awareness and funds for MADD Canada.

Strides for Change is a family-oriented event which offers lots of activities and fun while providing a meaningful way to support MADD Canada's efforts to stop impaired driving, a crime that claims between 1,250 and 1,500 lives and causes close to 64,000 injuries every year. A Tribute and Survivor Area will be set up at Sunday's event to honour all those affected by impaired driving and remind everyone why it is so important to continue to work towards eliminating this terrible crime.

MADD Canada welcomes media and the public to the event.
