January 08, 2015 07:00 ET Increases Website Traffic Over 2000 Percent With Rackspace

Cross-Border Ecommerce Company Relies on Rackspace to Host Its Website Globally

HONG KONG, CHINA--(Marketwired - January 08, 2015) - Rackspace® (NYSE: RAX), the #1 managed cloud company, today announced that, a global trade ecommerce company, has grown its website traffic over 2000 percent using the Rackspace Managed Cloud portfolio.

Made-in-China chose the Rackspace dedicated hosting solution as part of its managed cloud offering, meaning the company could have full control over its servers while also enjoying the highest levels of speed and performance. Plus, with Intensive® Support SLA, Made-in-China's servers are monitored and managed at all times, backed by 100 percent uptime guarantee and rapid responses by the team providing Fanatical Support®.

Made-in-China began working with Rackspace in 2006 and since then its website traffic has prospered, growing from 1-to-2 million when the company began to between 25-to-35 million today. According to Made-in-China, revenues have also increased from 43 million RMB annually in 2006 to approximately 500 million RMB a year today.

"As an ecommerce company that connects worldwide buyers with Chinese suppliers, it is critical that we provide a user-friendly and quality experience to our customers around the world," said Tao Yan, IT Manager, Made-in-China. "With our previous provider, there were many instances of downtime as well as a lack of real-time support. However, with Rackspace our experience has been completely different."

"We chose Rackspace for a variety of reasons, such as its dedicated server hosting services, its 24x7 customer service, known as Fanatical Support, and an experienced team capable of managing our IT smoothly and efficiently," added Tao Yan. "Because of the company's support, we've been able to focus on growing our business year-over-year, as opposed to investing our time handling IT issues, as we did with our previous provider."

In the eight years that Made-in-China has worked with Rackspace, the company's infrastructure has grown dramatically, from just two servers in 2006 to a total of 23 servers hosted in the U.S., as well as seven cloud servers hosted in Hong Kong.

The performance of Made-in-China's website has improved astronomically as well. This is especially visible in terms of latency, which has been slashed. Now, web pages load with increased speed, which enhances the all-important user experience.

"Rackspace's global footprint, especially in Europe and the U.S. where most of our traffic originates, puts us closer to our customers. As a result, page-loading times are extremely fast. Instead of waiting for a webpage to appear, our users around the world can enjoy satisfying, real-time web browsing experiences," said Tao Yan.

While Made-in-China is based in Nanjing, China, over 70 percent of Made-in-China's web traffic comes from overseas, meaning it needed a reliable hosting provider that could support its business globally.

"With more and more China-based companies expanding West, demand has spiked for stable and flexible hosting solutions that can manage traffic around the globe," said Ajit Melarkode, managing director, Rackspace Asia-Pacific. "With our global solutions and Fanatical Support team that provides round-the-clock, tailor-made service, westbound companies, such as Made-in-China, are turning to managed cloud providers more than ever before." was developed by, and is operated by Focus Technology Co.
