Madison Community Services Launches 30th Anniversary Celebrations

Gerard Kennedy, MP, will be Honorary Chair of 30th Anniversary Committee

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Jan. 18, 2011) - Madison Community Services will hold the first of a series of events, on Wednesday January 19, celebrating its 30th anniversary providing vital services, including support to more than 300 individuals and housing to 50 people in Toronto with mental health challenges. Madison is also proud to announce Gerard Kennedy, MP, as the honorary chair for these celebrations.

"It's an honour and a privilege to serve as the honorary chair for this momentous occasion and effort. Throughout the years this organization has provided vital services to people with needs in Toronto. I am excited to participate as Madison Community Services takes this next step and moves into the future," said Gerard Kennedy, Honorary Chair.

Madison Community Services promotes health, recovery and the community integration of adults with mental health challenges through advocacy, education and the provision of a broad range of high quality community-based support services. 

The launch of the celebratory year will begin on January 19th, 2011 with an open house meet and greet and a display of our client's artwork.

Other events planned for the year include a community barbeque, a series of fundraising events, a mental health symposium as well as a breakfast for Toronto area health service providers with a focus on Community Mental Health and Addictions. These are all in an effort to build awareness for those living with mental health challenges. 

"Over the last 30 years Madison has taken a lead role in providing support services and supportive housing to individuals experiencing mental health challenges," said Garry Green, Executive Director. "As we move into our next 30 years, we want to continue to build on our experience, with support from our community."
