Magenium Solutions Announces New "Connected Home & Office" Division

GLEN ELLYN, IL--(Marketwired - May 5, 2015) - Today Magenium Solutions announces its newest practice: the "Connected Home and Office" division. The new division allows Magenium Solutions, a recognized leader in IT consulting, to offer corporate and home users an array of services aimed at simplifying the connected home and office -- an accelerating market powered by the new Internet of Things.

Microsoft Skype, available for home and the just released Skype for Business, is one of many products that will cross the chasm of work and home and is at the forefront of the Internet of Things, also known as IoT. This IoT has evolved from the convergence of wireless technologies, new micro-electromechanical systems and the Internet. ABI Research estimates that five years from now, 30 billion devices will be wirelessly connected to the IoT.

This new ubiquitous connectivity and control demands new talents and capabilities from companies. The "Connected Home & Office" Division of Magenium Solutions, led by connectivity expert Ben Brotcke, will help companies accelerate the adoption of technology needed to compete in IoT. "We've seen rapid growth the past few years as new technologies have emerged. Customers breathe a sigh of relief when we tell them that we will connect everything and make it work," said Brotcke.

In launching the new division, Magenium Solutions is acquiring and merging Mr. Brotcke's eHome business with its existing technology services. "I'm excited about the full range of services we'll be able to offer," Brotcke said.

Historically, advances in consumer technology become mainstream and then rapidly infiltrate the corporate campus. PC's, cell phones, Wi-Fi and tablets are a few examples of technology that crossed the chasm quickly. Internal corporate IT has had to wrestle with consumer oriented products over the years, and these devices are typically not supported by Corporate IT in their initial phases. Our goal is to assist our corporate customers with the challenges of installation, support and management, as well as provide expert monitoring services.

Leading the commercial expansion in IoT is a proliferation of home automation and control platforms. These device controls and systems typically communicate with accessories connected through hardwiring or Wi-Fi in a user's home, and allow a user to configure them and even create actions to control other devices. Users can group actions together and trigger them using voice commands or an app on their mobile phone or computer. Examples are security systems, door locks, internet connected surveillance cameras known as IP Cameras, smart lighting systems and thermostats and AV Media equipment. All come with network connectivity requirements. Many are also utilizing and creating streaming sources that take up bandwidth.

The interconnection of devices is ushering in automation in nearly every field at a rapid pace. Magenium Solutions' new division and its service offerings can help corporate customers embrace this change. Connected devices need installation, support and management, as well as monitoring services. In addition, the tidal wave data coming from them will need to be indexed, stored and processed. In this smart environment, clients can rely on Magenium Solutions' established expertise helping clients manage and monitor large amounts of data using custom and existing technology solutions.

Magenium Solutions is happy to welcome Ben as Managing Consultant of "Connected Home & Office" and we look forward to the opportunities the new division brings to our customers.
