BURBANK, CA--(Marketwire - Mar 27, 2013) - Magic Ruby, the leader in delivering monetizable content and immersive applications for the second screen, has been appointed to create the second screen companion application for the all-new Technicolor-produced, CGI animated, action adventure series, The Deep, anticipated to premiere in fall 2014.
Currently in development, Magic Ruby's companion app for The Deep will sync in real time across smart devices to the show. The app will demonstrate how second screen applications and production platforms provide deep audience engagement through games, educational facts, exclusive content and commerce wish lists.

Based on the international hit graphic novel series, The Deep follows the incredible adventures of the Nekkon family, who explore unchartered areas of the earth's oceans, seeking to unravel the mysteries of the deep sea. Every episode of the series, targeting Kids 8 - 12 and their families, is filled with action, adventure, incredible sea monsters, fantastic vehicles, unbelievable bravery, and the odd family squabble, of course!
The Deep's second screen application will take fans deeper into the broadcast with immersive and educational content that allows viewers to explore the Nekkon family's underwater home, as well as the creatures and places they encounter on their adventures. The app will also integrate offline content to keep fans engaged between broadcasts and encourage tune-in.
