Maintenance completed at Suncor Energy Commerce City refinery

Commerce City, CO (January 4, 2006) — Suncor Energy (U.S.A.) Inc. has completed maintenance to its Commerce City refinery and operations are quickly ramping up to full production capacity of about 90,000 barrels per day (bpd).

Production at the refinery had been reduced to about 65,000 bpd following a fire on December 17. No one was injured during the fire, which damaged one of Suncor's three crude units. During the maintenance, Suncor has been working closely with crude oil suppliers to mitigate the impact of reduced production. Suncor, which supplies approximately 35% of Colorado's gasoline and diesel fuel requirements, does not anticipate any significant customer impacts from the production shortfall.
