Maintenance Stands Support Tinker Air Force Base Winning the Robert T. Mason Award

Prestigious Award Recognizes Base's Productivity Improvements in Aircraft Programmed Maintenance

GREENSBORO, NC--(Marketwire - November 13, 2012) -  Tinker Air Force Base received the prestigious Robert T. Mason Depot Excellence Award in recognition of productivity gains achieved in numerous areas of its operations. In servicing a record 55 aircraft during the yearlong award period, 1,400 personnel in six facilities increased productivity by more than 20%, improving effectiveness while saving over $2 Million compared to outsourcing the same operations.

Tinker Aircraft Maintenance Squadron utilized a customized version of the Cv International (http://cvintl.com/) maintenance stands that are used in a wide range of military, rotary and commercial aircraft maintenance, including the recently announced Boeing 787 stand. By providing a range of working platforms and utility support (air, electric, light), facilities are able to enhance productivity and technician safety.

"Cvi 's AAMS (Advanced Aircraft Maintenance Stands) stands have a long history of exceptional productivity and safety performance in both military and civilian operations, dating back to the Boeing 707 and F-16. By incorporating feedback from aviation MRO (Maintenance, Repair and Operations) technicians, EHS (Environmental Health and Safety) experts and the military, Tinker AFB was able to protect both the technician's safety and the aircraft from damage or lost time," said Richard Browne, Vice-President of Marketing. "Integrating our utility manifold systems and nitrogen servicing capabilities with the work stand further simplifies the maintenance environment and shortens the turn around time for aircraft maintenance." The AAMS series of products are designed to meet or exceed ANSI (American National Standards Institute) and OSHA standards. Cvi incorporates a unique aluminum and steel fabrication approach enhancing a modular, ergonomically advanced and sturdy maintenance platform.

The 564 Aircraft Maintenance Squadron (AMXS) is the largest maintenance squadron in the Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC). The team is responsible for the complete PDM inspection, repair and overhaul of KC-135 aircraft for the Air Mobility Command, the Air National Guard, and the Air Force Reserve. The squadron delivers more than 1.48 million man-hours of support annually.
